Congrats

Congratulations to Charles Woodson of the Green Bay Packers on winning the Super Bowl.  Woodson becomes one of only a few players to win a FBS National Championship, Heisman Trophy, and Super Bowl ring.  Although Woodson was injured during the 1st half, he rallied his team with an emotional halftime speech.

See you at the White House Charles! GO BLUE!

This was done as a project in my Digital Design class using Adobe Illustrator CS5. Hello Pen Tool…

Syd Barrett Poster

This was a poster that I did for a Typography class project. This was fun to make, and I am pleased with the result.

Update

I finally got the site back up and running, and messed around with a new theme. I kinda like it.

I am still taking classes at UM-Flint full time and they are really keeping me busy.  I am actually looking forward to the semester winding down so I can have some free time.

Other than school, I have been slowly trying to bring my old dishwasher back to life.  It’s an old Kitchen Aid built by Hobart in Troy, OH.  From everything I’ve read, they are supposed to be the best washer around.  Hopefully I’ll get it up and running here pretty soon…

Grinding Away

For those of you that care, I did end up getting my Jetta back on the road.  It was a bit of a pain in the butt, as I opted to fix it myself.  My dad and I hammered on that beast all of December and got her back into shape.

In January, I started at UofM-Flint, and have about two weeks left in the semester.  I have been busier than hell, but I should end up with exceptional grades, something that is long over due for me…

Looking forward to a little down time between Winter and Spring semesters…

Jetta v. Buck

So a couple of weeks ago, I was driving home from class on US-23 when out of nowhere, and 8pt buck is standing in the middle of my lane.  I tried to veer and miss him, but I nailed him pretty good.  As a result, my 2002 VW Jetta TDI got blown out…

RIP EDS

Well it looks like the final nail has been put into the EDS coffin, as HP has announced that they are doing away with the EDS brand after acquiring the IT services company just over a year ago.

So, “EDS, an HP Company” only lasted what, about a year?  I had a feeling that was just a transitional name to keep the die hard EDSers in their chairs.  Best of luck to my former coworkers.  I hope HP treats them well, as it looks like HP is in a pretty good spot to take on IBM, according to the NY Times article linked above.

Just remember, the pay-cuts were for your own good.  Now if you will excuse me, I have to continue shopping around for a new HP Laptop, and a new job…

Michigan v. Eastern Michigan

Last Saturday I was lucky enough to be invited by a good friend (who happens to be a cameraman for a major news source) to attend the Michigan v. EMU game.  I was there to assist him with his duties to get video of the game & post-game presser.  This entailed helping him lug around some equipment and more importantly, staying the hell out of the way.  The benefit of all this was being able to take in the game from field level, which gives me a new appreciation for the size and talents of the D-1 student athlete.  It was also very cool to see Michael Phelps, Jerry Hanlon, Coach Rod and other Michigan luminaries up close and personal.

The game ended up being somewhat of a blowout, after Eastern kept it to a 7pt deficit at the half.  In the second half, the Michigan defense made the proper adjustments, and shut down Eastern.  The Michigan offense rolled up 380 yards on the ground, to seal the programs 875th win all time with the final score Michigan 45, Eastern Michigan 17.
